"The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth."
"A cleaner environment is not a choice, it is our responsibility."
The school observed National Pollution Control Day on 2nd December to raise awareness about the harmful effects of pollution and to encourage students to work towards a cleaner and healthier environment. The day is observed in memory of the victims of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, one of the world's worst industrial disasters.
The assembly began with a short introduction explaining the significance of the day and why pollution control is important in today's world. Students highlighted different types of pollution—air, water, soil, and noise—and shared simple actions that everyone can follow to reduce them.
A thought-provoking speech was delivered by students from the middle school, stressing how pollution affects our health and planet. This was followed by an informative skit, which showed the consequences of ignoring pollution and the positive impact of adopting eco-friendly habits such as planting trees, reducing plastic use, conserving water, and choosing public transport with a reminder about sustainable practices like proper waste segregation and recycling. The assembly concluded with a pledge where all students promised to contribute towards protecting the environment and keeping the school campus clean.
The assembly successfully created awareness and inspired students to act responsibly to help build a pollution-free future.
