World Environment Day Assembly

On 5th June 2025, Class 9B conducted a special assembly to commemorate World Environment Day, focusing on SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water. The assembly served as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the planet and promote sustainable living.

The program began with the Word of the Day, “Biophilia”, setting the tone for an event centred on our connection with nature. A thought-provoking street play followed, raising awareness about threats to marine ecosystems and underscoring the importance of SDG 14.

A moving rendition of ‘Colours of the Wind’ by Tori Kelly deepened the emotional impact, inspiring empathy and respect for nature. As a symbolic act, seed bags were distributed to selected teachers and students, encouraging them to spread environmental awareness. The assembly concluded with a call to ongoing environmental commitment, reminding all present that meaningful climate action must continue beyond a single day.

Following the assembly, the Tree Planting Activity provided students with a hands-on experience as they dug into the soil and sowed spinach seeds. This meaningful activity served as an introduction to farming, offering a tangible connection to environmental care and sustainable living. It promoted experiential learning, fostered personal responsibility, and helped nurture a lasting respect for nature among the students.
