To commemorate World Environment Day on June 5, a special assembly was held by the students of Class 9B, focusing on two critical Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water. The programme served as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the planet and promote sustainable living.
The assembly began with the Word of the Day, Biophilia, highlighting the innate human tendency to connect with nature and setting the tone for the event. This was followed by a compelling street play that emphasized the urgent need to protect our oceans and drew attention to the threats faced by marine life, effectively reinforcing the goals of SDG 14.
The emotional tone deepened with a soulful rendition of “Colours of the Wind” by Tori Kelly, inspiring empathy and respect for nature. To symbolize growth and responsibility, seed bags were distributed to selected teachers and students, encouraging them to nurture both plants and environmental awareness within their communities.
The assembly concluded with a strong call to action, reminding everyone that environmental protection is a lifelong commitment and urging all to become mindful stewards of the Earth.
