Classes 6 & 7 - Interhouse Pookallam Competition

Interhouse competitions are conducted with a view to promoting learning, entertainment, and awareness. They give students opportunities to develop self-confidence, and qualities of leadership and teamwork.

Pookallam is a floral carpet that symbolizes the spirit of unity and teamwork. It ushers in the warmth and vibrancy of Onam festival to our hearts. The four houses of NPS East participated in an Interhouse Pookallam Competition on Friday, 8th September 2023.

Students unleashed their creativity and innovation as they filled in the contours of the floral patterns sketched on the floor with their deft fingers and keen focus. They put on their thinking caps and came up with different themes for the Pookallam, like unity and diversity, salute to the ISRO, Kathakali and ideas symbolic of the harvest festival. Fragrant flower petals and leaves were used to transform the school floors into colourful carpets of prosperity, unity, and strength.
